Updates for the Ninja 650 in 2027

With a justifiably strong reputation in the mid-capacity sports segment, the Ninja 650 delivers Kawasaki riding excitement with its strong low-to-mid-range-focused 649 cm3 Parallel Twin engine mated to a lightweight, compact chassis. For 2027, the new Ninja 650 further enhances riding fun thanks to updated front-end components and other refinements that sharpen its sporty handling character and strengthen its Ninja appeal.

A ø37 mm Showa SFF-BP (Separate Function Front Fork – Big Piston) inverted fork replaces the telescopic front fork of the previous model. Its larger piston reduces damping pressure, creating greater control and more composed attitude changes while also offering greater chassis stability on corner entry and a planted braking feel. An uprated rear spring rate pairs well with the new inverted fork, maintaining the Ninja 650’s rider-friendly character and natural handling feel.

At the front, radial-mount brake calipers replace the previous axial-mount items, and the change from 2-piston to 4-piston construction improves response to lever input, contributing to linear, controllable braking performance. A newly designed front fender is wider, covering more of the fork outer tubes.

Together, these suspension and braking updates contribute to improved road-holding performance and greater control, supporting more spirited sport riding while preserving the light, natural feel of the previous model — a 2027 package that allows a wide range of riders to enjoy the fun of controlling this popular machine with confidence.

Other key features include a 4.3-inch TFT colour instrument display with a newly designed layout, presenting key information at a glance and contributing to an even more high-tech cockpit appearance. Smartphone connectivity via Rideology App now supports navigation and voice command functions, further increasing convenience and riding enjoyment.

Riders benefit from a reassuring reach to the ground, thanks to a lower 785 mm seat, a slim chassis and a lightweight trellis frame. Confidence is backed up by KTRC (Kawasaki TRaction Control) with two rider-selectable modes, with the Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) offered as an accessory for seamless upshifts.

The result? A sharper Ninja 650 for 2027, combining increased sport riding potential with its already established sleek Ninja styling and approachable character to deliver an updated Fun-Style-Easy concept.
