18 November 2016 KRT Superbike riding experience 2016

The annual Kawasaki Racing Team and Kawasaki Motors Europe media ride of the KRT SBK Ninja took place at Motorland Circuit, Aragon on 15 November.
For the maximum capacity of ten media guests from Europe and the USA, the day included not only the chance to ride Jonathan Rea’s 2016 SBK Championship winning Ninja but also the track debut of the new Ninja ZX-10RR in a “track ready” specification.

Exclusive use of the magnificent Motorland 5.3km track added to the increasing sense of anticipation as journalists were briefed by KRT team manager Guim Roda in the double decked Kawasaki Racing Team hospitality unit.

Roda stressed that this was indeed Jonathan Rea’s actual Championship winning Ninja with full support of the same technical team and pit box crew that attended each of the 26 races on the 13 round 2016 SBK calendar.

As if the chance to ride Rea’s machine were not enough, the programme was completed with an exclusive opportunity for each media guest to ride the new-for-2017 Ninja ZX-10RR. Forming the base for the new season KRT racing machine, the ZX-10RR sat in the pit box complete in fast track day specification with the addition of a full Akrapovič exhaust system and other selected upgrades made possible by the race-focussed specification of the machine that so much is expected of in both Superbike and Superstock classes in the coming year.

Executed in the same unstressed and professional way that KRT operated across another Championship winning season, each rider had a specific time to ride each machine and the opportunity to speak to technical staff after the ride for questions and explanations… mostly about the sheer power and acceleration of the KRT Ninja and track ability of the RR model!

The highlights ?

“The KRT Ninja is so rider friendly”

“Nothing prepared me for the acceleration of the KRT machine”

“The smoothness and predictability of the ZX-10RR was a joy”

………….”Can I have some more laps?”

Another highly appreciated KRT and KME organised media ride day completed and all with not a single incident. Happy faces all round and a relieved Jonathan Rea delighted to have “his bike” back for winter testing the following day. Look out for reports in your local media.
