The Kawasaki Z900RS and Z900RS SE have once again been awarded “Motorcycle of the Year” in the reader poll conducted by the German motorcycle magazine MOTORRAD. In the “Modern Classics” category, the model secured first place for the ninth consecutive year.

With a total of 46,737 participants, 274 models and 13 categories, the poll is considered one of the most significant votes within the motorcycle industry.

1^ST PLACE IN THE “MODERN CLASSICS” CATEGORY

In 2026, the Z900RS range once again clearly prevailed against its strong competition. The results of the poll at a glance:

1st place (23.3%): Kawasaki Z900RS / SE

2nd place (16.1%): BMW R12 / R 12 nineT

3rd place (9.9%): Triumph Speed Twin 1200

Since its market introduction in 2018, the Z900RS has remained undefeated in this category, reaffirming its outstanding position within the modern classics segment.

CONSISTENCY AND CHARACTER

This continued success highlights the enduring popularity of the Z900RS among riders. The model combines classic design inspired by the legendary Z1 with modern technology, balanced handling and everyday usability.

The combination of authentic retro styling, a powerful in-line four-cylinder engine and contemporary features makes the Z900RS a cornerstone of the Kawasaki model range – and a true benchmark within the modern classics segment.

FURTHER SUCCESS FOR KAWASAKI

Kawasaki also achieved a strong result in the “Naked Bike” category: the 2026 Kawasaki Z900 secured 3rd place, further underlining its competitive position within the segment.
