Vulcan legend continues for 2027
Proudly part of the legendary Kawasaki Vulcan line, the mid-capacity Vulcan S stands apart, with its Parallel Twin engine, unique frame and suspension layout, and its very distinctive looks.
Conceived for independent-minded riders, it does not require the rider to conform to any herd-mentality fashion or lifestyle. Befitting its cruiser status, special attention has been paid to ensuring high levels of fit and comfort allied to riding confidence to make the Vulcan S an attractive option for riders looking for a sleek, accommodating motorcycle. Accessible in all senses of the word, the Vulcan S opens a world of stylish riding to the widest range of riders.
Looks are a priority, and the flowing style with long-and-low stance and modern elements include an original design of inverted triangle headlamp, a teardrop fuel tank and wide rear fender plus a unique design of cast wheels. For the rider settling into the plush seat (low at 705mm) the convenience of three-way adjustable footpegs (via accessory rods) is matched by a different reach optional handlebar and even a comfort accessory seat making the Vulcan S ergonomically fine-tuneable.
The liquid-cooled, DOHC, 8-valve 649 cc Parallel Twin engine is fuel injection equipped and delivers smooth, responsive performance, especially in the low and medium rpm ranges. The engine is tuned for rider-friendly power characteristics that inspire confidence in new riders. The Vulcan S offers smooth starts from a standstill, predictable acceleration, and a satisfying pull when required. Rated at a peak power of 44.7 kW {61 PS} as standard, the Vulcan S is also convertible to 35 kW European A2 licence specification via a special kit that any Kawasaki dealer can install.
Style cojoined with subtlety are a Vulcan S specialism. Note the laydown rear shock for not just cruiser looks by compliant suspension action. Wheel choice of 18-inch front and 17-inch rear promote a cruiser look while offering sporting handling while the 272 mm front disc with twin-piston caliper and rear 216 mm rotor (plus single-piston caliper) offer assured braking.
It’s not just about style with the Vulcan S, practicality is also to the fore with low weight and a low centre of gravity (thanks, in part, to the under-engine muffler), making it highly manoeuvrable, whether riding, pushing in a parking lot, or walking beside the bike.
Of course, very few Vulcan S owners will keep their bike standard and a staggering array of Kawasaki Genuine Accessories are available including windshields, luggage racks, saddlebags and even a light bar with sub lamps. Vulcan S – the legend continues…
