2027 Versys 650 - Mid-weight versatility

True to its founding versatile system principle, the 2027 Versys 650 confidently occupies an enviable place in the mid-capacity adventure-style marketplace.

The “any roads” look and style of the Versys 650 is underpinned by a carefully considered package that delivers rewarding riding allied to manoeuvrability, engaging performance and ownership practicality.

A unique package comprises long-travel suspension and sporty 17” wheels plus a slim, upright riding position allied to a compact Parallel-Twin engine tuned for low-mid range torque.

Benefiting from the same angular and purposeful looks of its Versys 1100 stablemate, the Versys 650 enjoys LED lighting, a 4.3-inch TFT meter that is able to connect via the Rideology App to the riders’ Smartphone and a four-position adjustable screen.

The trellis-type chassis is not simply responsive but also allows a narrow profile to the rear of the fuel tank enabling riders to enjoy an easy reach to the ground while the generously padded seats are suitable for any distance desired.

Within that chassis lays a 649 cm3 Parallel Twin engine offering smooth, linear response, strong low-mid range torque and favourable fuel economy. It also features Kawasaki's advanced traction control system (KTRC) providing both enhanced sport riding performance and the peace of mind under certain conditions to negotiate low-traction surfaces with confidence. Two modes allow riders to adjust the settings to suit prevailing conditions.

In terms of suspension, combining both long travel and stiff springs for the front fork and offset laydown rear suspension yields the benefits of both off-road-style and sport-bike suspension, offering excellent road holding in a wide range of street riding conditions and superb feedback. Braking is courtesy of dual ø272 mm petal discs gripped by twin-piston calipers up front and a single-piston rear caliper.

Eager to tour, the Versys 650 is available with a suite of colour-coded optional luggage that includes a clean-mount pannier system (operating from the same key as ignition and fuel tank) plus a 47-litre top case. Other accessories include fog lamps, heated grips and frame sliders.

Additionally, the Versys is available from Kawasaki dealers in a number of Edition options including Tourer and Tourer Plus that upgrade the standard machine with items from the Kawasaki genuine accessory range.

Whatever model you settle on – including a 35Kw European A2 licence compliant variant -  the Versys 650 delivers miles and smiles in equal measure and is ready to be your 2027 distance partner.
