Z900RS confirmed in 2027 Kawasaki model line

The incredibly popular Z900RS and its Z900RS SE stablemate are set to take their place in the 2027 Kawasaki range as standout machines in the retro sport segment.

Based on the looks and appeal of the iconic Z1 Super Four of the early 1970s, both Z900RS models share a significant number of styling cues with their famous Z1 “grandparent” while boasting modern, state-of-the-art technology – for many, the ideal blend of old and new, past and present.

Like the Z1, the Z900RS features a 900cc-class In-Line Four offering a great balance of power and manageability, with tuning focused on the low-mid range without sacrificing any high-rev excitement – and all to the soundtrack of a tuned four-into-one exhaust system.

The chassis boasts ø41 mm inverted front forks and horizontal back-link rear suspension, while the main frame is a tube trellis type with stresses and necessary flex calculated by computer to deliver the ultimate in ride quality and feedback. Radial-mount front brakes offer incredible stopping power, while KTRC (Kawasaki TRaction Control) and an assist and slipper clutch facilitate a seamless, stress-free riding experience.

On the tech side, the Z900RS features a ride-by-wire throttle (thanks to electronic throttle valves), while a 6-axis IMU enables a range of worthwhile rider-focused features such as cornering ABS and electronic cruise control. An up/down quick-shifter is also part of the standard equipment package.

Pushing to the next level – as so many RS riders like to do – the SE version takes things further still with gold anodised front fork legs, an Öhlins rear shock with remote reservoir and adjuster, plus Brembo front monobloc calipers matched to braided steel hoses.

Convenience features such as wireless smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki’s Rideology App allow access to a ramge of helpful information, including the option to have voice-prompted route guidance.

Genuine accessories for the Z900RS and Z900RS SE include a 20mm reduced height seat, heated grips, meter covers, a radiator screen and crash protection items.

Timeless and magnificent, these distinctive machines will prove in 2027 that legends never end.
