Five 2026 Kawasaki MULE models announced
Details of the 2026 Kawasaki MULE Utility Vehicle range have just been announced totalling five models in the line-up.
Reaching across a vast landscape of work and leisure disciplines, details of the five machines just released reveal just how adaptable and durable the enduring MULE range is and sets the scene for a positive upcoming sales season.
Although the physically smallest of the 2026 range, it’s not entirely accurate to dub the MULE SX 4x4 “entry level” such is its specification. Offering switchable two and four wheel drive plus the simplicity of an air-cooled, single-cylinder petrol power unit, the lithe little SX is a firm favourite with small scale farms and for recreational use. Thanks to its tubular ladder type chassis and 181 kg load capacity with tipping load bed, the SX is ready to deliver and comes equipped as standard with a sturdy roll over protection frame (ROPS).
Moving up the engine capacity and vehicle size scale, the next announced MULE machines are no less than four from the highly praised MULE PRO fleet. Starting with the PRO-MX and its 695 cm3 single cylinder engine; this machine shares the same easy to use and dependable CVT style transmission with all others in the 2026 MULE range while offering 2 and 4WD plus a combined cargo weight of 544kg.
Moving to the MULE Pro-FX, it features a dedicated 4st, 2-cyl, DOHC, 4-valve, Liquid-cooled 999 cm3 power plant plus electrically selectable 2WD/4WD,a dual-mode rear differential plus, for the FX, the undoubted benefit of self-levelling rear suspension. On the more practical side, the easy access oil filter (and oil dipstick) plus air-cleaner filter greatly facilitates maintenance chores and reduces down time. Like others in the PRO range, there are hydraulic disc brakes front and rear plus, in this case, a huge 451kg load capacity.
The MULE PRO DX and DXT models close out the 2026 machines so far unveiled. Offering the convenience of diesel motive power, both machines boast 3-cylinder, in-line OHV, liquid-cooled engines fed by Bosch fuel injection. Equipped with front and rear double wishbone suspension plus a maximum load of 714 kg, the chunky pick-up truck styling of these machines means they don’t just go anywhere but they fit into any work or leisure environment boasting electronic power steering and even a tilting steering wheel.
For the DXT the story is “all this and more” as it incorporates the ability to transform from four-person to two-person mode in less than a minute. The sliding cargo wall is integrated with the cargo bed making it possible to still carry a load plus four seat belted passengers (one on the front bench and three on the rear bench seat).
With this early announcement of a pack of 2026 MULE models – and a target sales date of August for the MULE SX 4X4 with other machines are already available - Kawasaki once again cements its presence in the Utility Vehicle arena.
