Extending a concept recently introduced by the KLE500, Kawasaki takes things in a new direction for 2027 with the new KLE650.  Among rally-style models in the 600-800 cm3 class equipped with a 21” front wheel, the new KLE650 stands out for its prioritisation of long-distance touring comfort while delivering an excellent riding experience.

The KLE650 is Kawasaki’s first rally-inspired adventure touring model to feature a next-generation middleweight engine based on the proven 649 cm3 liquid-cooled Parallel Twin currently used so successfully across a wide range of platforms.  

Together with Electronic Throttle Valves, the fine-tuned intake and exhaust system delivers strong low-to-mid-range torque, powerful high-rpm performance, and smooth, linear response with no flat spots.  This gives the KLE650 a composed character for touring while remaining responsive and engaging in the bends.

Standard rider support technology includes Kawasaki TRaction Control (KTRC) and Electronic Cruise Control to further enhance comfort and convenience during long-distance riding, either solo or with a passenger.

A compact trellis frame inspired by the KLE500 is combined with 21″ front and 17″ rear spoked wheels, long-travel suspension, rally-inspired bodywork and a road-oriented seat, creating an ideal package that seamlessly transitions from daily commuting to sporty on-road riding and adventure touring. 

To distinguish it from its smaller sibling, the KLE650 features larger body panels than the KLE500, creating a strong visual presence while remaining unmistakably part of the growing KLE family.

The SE model adds an up/down Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS), a TFT meter panel, tubeless tyres, a USB-C power socket, handguards, an aluminium bash plate and a larger windscreen, further contributing to long-distance comfort and convenience.

In addition, European Kawasaki dealers will offer three Edition models of the KLE650, all created using Genuine Kawasaki Accessories. Customers will be able to choose from the Top Case, Rally and Adventure Tourer editions.
