2027 Kawasaki KX and KLX youth range unveiled
Incorporating two-stroke and four stroke engine platforms, the Kawasaki off-road youth range for 2027 takes riders from first tentative steps to the potential Championship wins with a variety of machines that truly “cover all the bases”.
In class capacities of 65cm3, 85cm3, 110cm3 and 140cm3, the impressive variety of machines make it easier than ever to gain entry to the world of riding in the starter and leisure classes laying the groundwork for future off-road and racing ambitions*.
Fusing durability, performance and KX family style as core design parameters, the four-stroke KLX range offers an ownership experience promising years of reliable service allied to the trusted and enthusiastic Kawasaki European off-road Team Green dealer network.
An entry level motorcycle – but with the same attention to detail and build standards as adult machines – the 112cc KLX 110R is rugged and reliable welcome to the Kawasaki off-road four stroke stable with kick and electric starting plus a four speed semi-automatic transmission, great for mastering how gears work without manual clutch complexity.
The addition of a parent or guardian throttle stop facilitates controlled speed learning in safe conditions. And like its KLX siblings the KX racing looks are backed up by race style suspension and full-on Kawasaki build quality.
Further up the scale in terms of engine size is the KLX140 range with no less than three models available in 2027 from the R with its 17inch front and 14 inch rear wheel set up to the L (large wheel) at 19inch and 16inch respectively and finally the F (full size) equipped with 21inch at the front and a 18inch rear wheel.
Housed within a Tubular, semi-double cradle chassis, the 144cc electric-start, five speed manual transmission engine is air-cooled thus dispensing with radiators allowing a thin profile. The robust two-valve motor is designed to be easily maintained prioritising riding time over workshop time. Kawasaki’s own adjustable Uni-Trak suspension plus front and rear disc brakes add to the riding reassurance while the styling is pure KX reflecting the looks and attitude of countless Championship winning machines.
In terms of youth racing, the water-cooled, two-stroke KX65 is nothing short of a legend. First across the line in thousands of Championships, the smallest KX comes equipped with front and rear disc brakes plus Uni-Trak rear suspension and KX race graphics.
When it is time, riders can move seamlessly up to the KX85 which is available for 2027 in both standard (17inch front / 14inch rear) and big wheel (19inch front / 16inch rear) versions taking riders through a pivotal part of their racing journey. Enjoying up to date styling bodywork and radiator shrouds, the KX85 also benefits from a Kawasaki’s Ergo-Fit handlebar mount system offering six possible positions.
Next on the capacity ladder for many riders will be the KX112, a classic two-stroke, water-cooled single cylinder machine with an 865mm seat height and a 19inch front and 16inch rear wheel combination.
A great practice or track day bike for younger riders getting to grips with precise machine control and practicing their race craft, the KX112 spec includes a sturdy six speed transmission, allied to tried and trusted Kawasaki KX precision engineering. Additionally, unique Kawasaki “Ergo Fit” functionality delivers an adjustable handlebar mounting system allowing riders to tailor fit their riding style and physical size.
The first step is always crucial, and for young riders thinking of competition - or just wanting to experience the thrill of off-road riding - the choice within the 2027 Kawasaki range is exceptional. First ever ride or “time to get serious”,
Kawasaki has a 2027 model year youth focused machine ready and willing to support and hone rider skills while delivering an enjoyable Team Green experience.
