Slim rider interface

Bodywork components and seat designed to offer a slim, natural riding position making it easier for racers to go fast. Slimmer shroud design contributes to improved ergonomics.

Rear shock absorber

Revised shock damping settings result in a reduced "kicking" tendency, facilitating corner entry. Dual compression adjustability offers a wide range of tuning options. Kashima Coat on the tank cylinder improves action.

249 cm3 liquid-cooled, 4-stroke Single

Tuned for high performance, the wide powerband extends way into the over-rev. Factory-inspired refinements contribute to increased performance. Used for the first time in a mass-production machine, a new high-performance piston with bridged-box bottom features the same design as our factory racers. Additional modifications offer enhanced durability and reliability.

Radiators

New thicker, wider radiators with more widely spaced cores/fins are stronger, offer better resistanceto mud build-up while maintaining cooling performance. Also lighter overall, with reinforcing brackets unnecessary.

Renthal handlebar

Factory-style handlebar and pad saves weight.

All-aluminium perimeter frame

Slim aluminium perimeter frame is a lightweight construction composed of forged, extruded and cast parts.

New Uni-Trak rear suspension

Linkage mounts below the swingarm for more precise suspension tuning. Revised linkage ratios contribute to increased rear wheel traction.

Petal brake discs

Front and rear petal brake discs offer efficient braking performance.

Showa twin-chamber fork with titanium coating

Low-friction titanium coating (a class first) smoothes fork action. Revised settings result in a less forward-leaning posture. New damping settings and a revised steering stem offer improved action and increased absorption performance. Kashima Coat further reduces friction.
